So called risukkamiehet (read: Riesling lovers) Johan and Rikhard arranged tasting event inspired by legendary Berlin Kabinett Cup. This cup was taken place in Nomad Cellar Helsinki, not in Berlin. Wines were all 2015 Riesling vintages from all over the Germany. The guys selected 32 different wines for tasting and luckily there were only seven tasters including myself. This plenty amount of wines was not a surprise after these fellows getting excited. Rikhard had told that in his opinion all Finnish sommeliers should be binded with a rope and be dragged behind a car through Helsinki until they swear to the name of Riesling. Actually one more extra round to swear to the name of kabinett.

Back to actual tasting, the wines were tasted blind and started from trocken (dry) obviously.

Everybody reviewed wines by giving points in 100 scale. The tasting was divided to six flights where own bests were chosen for second tasting. Below all wines in tasting order:

As all who read this can imagine that there were a lot of wine for tasting and if I had drunk all wines without pouring some to a spit cup, maybe I wouldn´t be here to write this blog. This was a exciting and awesome event and thank you again to organizers Johan and Rikhard “the risukkamiehet”.
