The following characters have been noticed based on soil<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Iron (colour intensity)<\/li>\n<li>Limestone (wholeness)<\/li>\n<li>Magnesium (harmony)<\/li>\n<li>Silicate (fine and powerful)<\/li>\n<li>Clay (sweetness and fermet\u00e9)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The terroir wines from the Domaine Paul Blanck are cellared for several years before being put to the market. The wines from these grapes are picked at optimal maturity, according to each specific area\u2019s characteristics and the vintage\u2019s climate profile, and are destined to complement and magnify the best gastronomy the world has to offer.<\/p>\n<p>The poetic and creative essence of a terroir wine opens a wealth of sensations. Citrus, spices, smoked notes, salinity, fullness combined together to give substance and marked profile to wines which can be paired with a refined and authentic cuisine.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Generations of Winemakers<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p class=\"p2\" style=\"text-align: center;\"><b>1610<br \/>\n<\/b>The family&#8217;s Austrian ancestor Hans Blanck acquires his first vines in Alsace.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\" style=\"text-align: center;\"><b>1846<br \/>\n<\/b>Jacques Philippe Blanck is awarded a medal of recognition for his work as a winemaker.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p4\" style=\"text-align: center;\"><b>1927<br \/>\n<\/b>Paul Blanck and a handful of winemakers work towards the recognition of the Schlossberg as a standout vineyard and \u201cterroir\u201d.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\" style=\"text-align: center;\"><b>1975 onwards<\/b><\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\" style=\"text-align: left;\">Bernard and Marcel Blanck, Paul\u2019s sons, play a crucial role in supporting the award of the \u201cGrandCru\u201d appellation to the Schlossberg, the first area to receive the prestigious recognition in Alsace.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\" style=\"text-align: left;\">Nowadays, two generations are still active at the winery, with cousins Fr\u00e9d\u00e9ric and Philippe running the operations.
