It was good timing to taste full body and warm wines from Languedoc ja Roussilon. These wine regions in France are just perfect for this type of tasting. Red wines from this region contains Grenache noir which is my one of favourites at the moment.<\/p>\n<p>This tasting was arranged by Sami Sahramies. Humble thanks for him because the set was awesome. Also extra credits for trouble to study advance how to pronounce these wine names in French. I think Otto was only one who seemed to be maybe little a bit unhappy for some pronouncing \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n<p>Cut to the chase.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ffcc00;\"><strong>FLIGHT 1 ( WHITES)<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><strong>2014\u00a0Domaine Gauby Vin de Pays des C\u00f4tes Catalanes Blanc Vieilles Vignes<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li>Varieties; Macabeu, Grenache blanc<\/li>\n<li>Aromatic, yellow plum, rich and oily.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><strong>2015 La P\u00e8ira en Damais\u00e8la,Deusyls Pays D\u00b4Herault<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li>Varieties: Viognier, Rousanne<\/li>\n<li>Smoky on the nose, wood and fennel can be found. Smokiness follows on the palate. Crispy.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><strong>2015 Domaine Clavel, Cascaille Coteux du Languedoc\u00a0<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li>Varieties: Carignan, Grenache, Marsanne, Roussanne<\/li>\n<li>Green wine, fennel, green apples with notes of celery and grass.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #800000;\">FLIGHT 2 (REDS)<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><strong>2012 Mas Haut-Buis Costa Caude<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li>Varieties: Grenache, Carignan<\/li>\n<li>Dark berries comes in first on the nose. Jammy, full of red berries, licorice and dark berries.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><strong>Domaine Clavel, Copa Santa 2014<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li>Varieties:\u00a083% Syrah, 17% Grenache<\/li>\n<li>Strong licorice comes first then boysenberries and blackberries. Aromas getting lighter during time in glass.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><strong>Domaine Treloar, one block Grenache 2014\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li>Variety: Grenache<\/li>\n<li>Now this was fat wine meaning full body and jammy. Also burned rubber can be observed. Full body and fat wine which fits well to my taste.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><strong>2013 Domaine Gauby C\u00f4tes du Roussillon Villages Vieilles Vignes<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li>Varieties:\u00a0Carignan 35%,\u00a0Syrah 30%, Grenache 25%, Mourvedre 10%<\/li>\n<li>This wine was mute and did not open properly during the tasting. Still potential can be noticed for this smooth wine.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><strong>1998 Domaine Gauby C\u00f4tes du Roussillon Villages Vieilles Vignes<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li>Varieties:\u00a0Carignan 35%,\u00a0Syrah 30%, Grenache 25%, Mourvedre 10%<\/li>\n<li>If 2013 vintage was mute, this fellow was loud and alive. Light licorice and vanilla from oak on the nose. Licorice and red berries are in well balance and overall balance is great. Very long finish.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #800000;\">FLIGHT 4 (SWEET)<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><strong>2013 Domaine Treloar MO2\u00a0<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li>Varieties:Muscat<\/li>\n<li>On the nose grappa aromas were strong, also fresh apple juice and remains me like apple cider from Normandy. Grappa follows to the palate as well, also dried apples can be tasted. This wine is not for Grappa dislikers.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><strong>1989 Dom Brial Rivesaltes Grande Reserve<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li>Varieties: Macabeu, Grenache Blanc, Grenache gris.<\/li>\n<li>This sweet wine has been kept in glass container outside in fresh air. Lot of raisin and very roxo moscatel type of flavours.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>Thank you to Sami once again for arrangements.
