wBlog: YV5-M-b
Writing this wine blog has delayed badly like some others. There is some time already passed since I tasted this wine but the memory of good wine experience doesn’t go away.
It was an ordinary Saturday evening and I made Jamie Oliver’s mushroom risotto and beef tenderloin. It was a surprise how good they pair to each other, one reason could be fatless tenderloin. It is easy to find wine for risotto and wine for beef, but how about to find a wine for the combination? Barbera d’Asti Bricco dell’Uccellone from Braida was the answer and it didn’t let you down. This w
ine was aged in barrique barrels 15 months following by 1 year in the bottle. It was more powerful than “normal” Barbera with vanilla flavour from oak but still keeping fruitiness and red berries like strawberry and cherry. I need to find more this 2013 vintage since in some professional reviews, vintage 2014 was not so great comparing to this one.
